Rescue

The song for this week’s worship Wednesday is “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle. I always have loved Lauren’s back story and what she overcame to get to where she is today. I don’t think there is a song of hers I do not love-it just depends on the day which one I love more. In “Rescue” it reminds us we are never alone, no matter the odds stacked against us. May it bless you today.

Rescue by Lauren Daigle

You are not hidden

There's never been a moment

You were forgotten

You are not hopeless

Though you have been broken

Your innocence stolen

I hear you whisper underneath your breath

I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army to find you

In the middle of the darkest night

It's true, I will rescue you

There is no distance

That cannot be covered

Over and over

You're not defenseless

I'll be your shelter

I'll be your armor

I hear you whisper underneath your breath

I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army to find you

In the middle of the darkest night

It's true, I will rescue you

I will never stop marching to reach you

In the middle of the hardest fight

It's true, I will rescue you

I hear the whisper underneath your breath

I hear you whisper, you have nothing left

I will send out an army to find you

In the middle of the darkest night

It's true, I will rescue you

I will never stop marching to reach you

In the middle of the hardest fight

It's true, I will rescue you

Oh, I will rescue you

Oils and Emotions

Oils and Emotions
We all know essential oils smell so good, but not many people really research the powerful benefits they really have, especially in the area of our emotions and emotional health.
One of the very first reference books I bought outside of the essential oils reference guide was the book by Carolyn Mein titled Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils.  This book is an excellent resource discussing emotions and essential oils.
Here is an Excerpt that just blows my mind every time I read it
"Have you ever noticed how smells, like bread baking, can send you back to a childhood memory and all the feelings associated with your favorite grandmother? Smell accesses the limbic system of the brain which is the seat of our emotions. Ancient Egyptians used essential oils to clear specific emotions and recorded them on the walls of certain temple healing chambers.

Sesquiterpenes, found in high levels in essential oils such as Frankincense and Sandalwood, help to increase the oxygen in the limbic system of the brain which in turn "unlocks" the DNA and allows emotional baggage to be released from cellular memory. Emotions have been found to be encoded within the DNA of the cells and passed on from generation to generation. Emotional behavior patterns have even been found to be "locked" within families. Transplant recipients report strange memories and desires which further  substantiates that emotions are stored in the body and encoded in the DNA of the cells. More recently, studies at New York University proved the amygdala gland ( the gland in the limbic system of the brain that stores and releases trauma in the body) does not respond to sound or sight or touch, but ONLY releases emotional trauma through the sense of smell."

Sails

The song I chose this week is “Sails” by Pat Barrett featuring Steffany Gretzinger, and Amanda Cook.

This song is Beautiful okay-just beautiful!!!! There are so many songs written surrounding the theme of surrender, but the way this one is worded is just so sweet and authentic. There is such a longing within the words. I can relate to so many situations where I have said to God “here just take over-I give in, I can’t do this on my own” This trio is singing the same thing in the most anointed way. May it bless you today.

Sails by Pat Barrett

Falling is easy, but staying in love is hard

Hard to be honest and keep our heart open

To be who we truly are

Without the excuses, without the façade

There's no pretending

Here in Your love

Oh, Lord set me free

Oh, Lord set me free

I'm finally seeing You were here all along

Your love wasn't absent, no

It doesn't come or go

The image I've had is starting to fail

You're patient with me

You're lifting the veil

Oh, Lord set me free

Oh, Lord set me free

Oh, Lord set me free (set me free)

Oh, Lord set me free (set me free)

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, here You are

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, here You are

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, here You are

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, here You are

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, here You are

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, oh, here You are

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, here You are

I let out the sails of my heart

Here I am, here You are

Wake

For this week’s worship Wednesday I thought I would lighten things up a bit- tend to gravitate towards slower songs. “Wake” by Hillsong Young and Free is one of those songs you can’t help dancing too when you hear it. Its the message though that’s powerful- “You will never fade away, your love is here to stay” “ Your glory is breaking through the night” Sometimes you need an upbeat song that is literally speaking life over your situation to remind you that the Lord is always near. May it bless you today.

Wake by Hillsong Young and Free

At break of day

In hope we rise

We speak your name

We lift our eyes

Tune our hearts

Into your beat

Where we walk there You'll be

With fire in our eyes

Our lives a light

Your love untamed

It's blazing out

The streets will glow

Forever bright

Your glory's breaking through the night

You will never fade away

Your love is here to stay

By my side in my life

Shining through me everyday

You will never fade away

Your love is here to stay

By my side in my life

Shining through me everyday

You wake within me

Wake within me

You're in my heart forever

You wake within me

Wake within me

You're in my heart forever

With fire in our eyes

Our lives a light

Your love untamed

It's blazing out

The streets will glow

Forever bright

Your glory's breaking through the night

You will never fade away

Your love is here to stay

By my side in my life

Shining through me everyday

You will never fade away

Your love is here to stay

By my side in my life

Shining through me everyday

You wake within me

Wake within me

You're in my heart forever

You wake within me

Wake within me

You're in my heart forever

Forever

Forever

Forever

In Your love

Forever

Forever

Forever

In Your love

Forever

Forever

Forever

In Your love

Forever

Forever

Forever

We know that

You will never fade away

Your love is here to stay

By my side in my life

Shining through me everyday

You will never fade away

Your love is here to stay

By my side in my life

Shining through me everyday

You wake within me

Wake within me

You're in my heart forever

You wake within me

Wake within me

You're in my heart forever

Defender

“Defender” by Jesus Culture performed by Katie Torwalt is the song of the week.  This is one of those songs that literally stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it. It is also one of those songs that has so many amazing parts to it-it just gets better and better-everything from the verses to the chorus to the bridge are just powerful.  This version is a long version-one you can just sit and soak in the words. It is a powerful weapon of a song to listen to when facing something-like really facing something- the enemy will HATE you worshipping to this one-literally HATE it. Do me a favor and don’t listen to this one until you have a full 12 minutes and 15 seconds to devote to it-and may it bless you!

Defender by Jesus Culture

Featuring Katie Torwalt

You go before I know

That You've even gone to win my war

You come back with the head of my enemy

You come back and You call it my victory

You go before I know

That You've even gone to win my war

Your love becomes my greatest defense

It leads me from the dry wilderness

And all I did was praise

All I did was worship

All I did was bow down

All I did was stay still

Hallelujah, You have saved me

So much better Your way

Hallelujah, Great Defender

So much better this way

You know before I do

Where my heart can seek to find Your truth

Your mercy is the shade I'm living in

You restore my faith and hope again

And all I did was praise

All I did was worship

All I did was bow down

All I did was stay still

Hallelujah, You have saved me

So much better Your way

Hallelujah, Great Defender

So much better this way

Hallelujah, You have saved me

So much better Your way

Hallelujah, Great Defender

So much better this way

And When I thought I lost me

You knew where I left me

You reintroduced me to Your love

You picked up all my pieces

Put me back together

You are the defender of my heart

And when I thought I lost me

You knew where I left me

You reintroduced me to Your love

You picked up all my pieces

Put me back together

You are the defender of my heart

And when I thought I lost me

You knew where I left me

You reintroduced me to Your love

You picked up all my pieces

Put me back together

You are the defender of my heart

Hallelujah, You have saved me

So much better Your way

Hallelujah, Great Defender

So much better this way

Hallelujah, You have saved me

So much better Your way

Hallelujah, Great Defender

So much better this way

All I did was praise

All I did was worship

All I did was bow down

All I could do is stay still

Praise becomes my breakthrough

My song becomes my triumph

Worship is my warfare

My victory is in you

Hallelujah, You have saved me

So much better Your way

Hallelujah, Great Defender

So much better this way

Hallelujah, You have saved me

So much better Your way

Hallelujah, Great Defender

So much better this way

All I did was praise

All I did was worship

All I did was bow down

All I did was stay still

All I did was stay still
